CONFIDENCE

Proper perception of oneself is key. You’re unlikely to be perceived right if you have a distorted view of yourself. You might have made definitions based on how you look, how well you do in school, how good your business looks, how many times you’ve failed, how you walk or talk or probably the big scar on your face or the heart. Hurts borne from traumatic life experiences like an abuse, abandonment, offense or loss.
Another perception that’s often prioritized is what people think of us. Infact this has been shown to have a significant influence on how people see themselves. This might have come from people who have significant place in your life, like a parent, friend or teacher.
None of all that’s been listed above truly defines you. You cannot honor the perspective of an observer more than that of an artist whose work of art is on display. No one can define you better than the person that made you and that’s whom your confidence should come from.
First you were made in God’s image and that’s the least of what your looks are worth. But it ain’t all about the looks, even your content and capacity is God’s. God’s image means God’s look alike, remember where He said that “all of you are gods and also my own children”
Second, do you even know whose you are? He said “But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world”. This should be your premise for facing anyone or any life’s situation.
Your confidence therefore should be drawn from the person who made you and who you belong to. Even at junctions where you feel you ain’t standing tall enough He has asked that “you come boldly unto the throne of grace, that you may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” You are the child of the most high God and He is your bragging right.
By the way, if others are yet to see it, it really isn’t yours to worry about. They will come around and if not, kindly let them be.
